Blue Bird Training

FAQ

A FEW QUESTIONS THAT SHOULD BE ASKED OF ANY TRUCK TRAINING SCHOOL ARE AS FOLLOWS:

COMMON QUESTIONS:

WHY IS THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY A GOOD CAREER CHOICE?
Truck driving is a good career choice because it is such a stable industry and it steadily grows every year. Almost everything you purchase has at one time been on a truck. Trucking companies will always be looking for well-trained, professional truck drivers.
AS A LONG DISTANCE TRUCK DRIVER, HOW OFTEN WILL I BE AWAY FROM HOME?
As an over-the-road driver, you can expect to be away from home 10-14 days at a time. As a general “rule of thumb” you can expect to receive one day off for each week you are on the road. After driving over-the-road for 12 months, you would then have the required experience to seek a regional or local position.
I AM COMING TO SCHOOL TO STUDY TRUCKING AS A SECOND CAREER. WILL I FIT IN?
Many of our students come to BlueBird Training later on in life. Either after raising a family they are looking for a well paying career, or many have left their previous careers and are searching for an exciting new field. Our students range from anywhere in their 20s to their 60s. No matter what your background you will fit right in to the BlueBird family as you train for your exciting new career.
WHAT RESEARCH SHOULD I DO PRIOR TO CHOOSING A SCHOOL THAT WILL BE RIGHT FOR ME?
Prior to enrolling, interview students in the program, or take a tour of the school. Ask if the school will let you sit in or observe the class or course that you are interested in before enrolling. You should also visit Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) website to see if the school is registered and in good standing.
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE SIGNING A CONTRACT WITH A SCHOOL?
An enrollment agreement should reflect information about the school’s total costs for the contracted-for course of instruction, a list of the charges that are non-refundable, the name and description of the program of instruction, the total amount of classes or hours needed to complete the program, payment schedules, cancellation and refund policies, and other mandatory disclosures regarding your rights and responsibilities as a student at the institution. Ensure you review these terms carefully and if something is not clear, don’t be afraid to speak up.
WHEN DO YOUR COURSES START?
For your convenience we offer continuous start dates. Our one on one training approach allows us to be more flexible with dates, allowing you to start your training faster. Get in touch with us today to learn more about student focused scheduling.
WHAT DAYS ARE YOU OPEN, AND WHAT ARE YOUR TRAINING HOURS?

Our school is open seven days a week, and lessons start at 8 am on weekdays and 9 am on weekends. As your practical training will be one-on-one, we are able to offer a customized training schedule that will fit your lifestyle.
